Jenny Ouellet is a Montreal-based painter whose work explores systems under tension—environmental, social, and informational—through a dialogue between abstraction and figuration. Her practice examines the mechanisms that shape our perception of reality and the way we make sense of the contemporary world.

With a background in solution architecture and automation, and studies in sculpture at Concordia University, she has developed a pictorial practice where structure and intuition coexist. Her visual language combines geometric and organic forms, binary sequences, textual fragments, and layered compositions to create images in which meaning gradually emerges.

Over the years, her research has evolved from deeply human experiences to environmental issues, through series addressing wildfires and flooding. More recently, with the Interference series, she investigates the mechanisms that blur our relationship with information and our perception of reality in a world where algorithms play an increasingly influential role.

Her work has been exhibited in Canada, France, and England, including at Maison de la culture Mercier in Montreal, Domaine Trinity in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, and the 7th London Art Biennale.

A member of the RAAV since 2015, Jenny Ouellet continues to develop a pictorial practice that invites viewers to slow down, question the mechanisms that shape our understanding of the world, and reflect on the way we choose to inhabit it.
