Jenny Ouellet
Biography

Jenny Ouellet is a self-taught painter of Quebec based in Montreal (not to be confused with the singer of the same name), she explores through her work the tensions between destruction and resilience. She combines abstraction and figuration to evoke societal and environmental phenomena in a deeply contemporary approach.Initially trained in sculpture at Concordia University, she has developed a personal pictorial language influenced by her background in computer science and nourished by a modular and geometric approach. Structure and instinct meet in her compositions, offering viewers an introspective journey where rationality and emotion coexist.A recipient of several awards, including first prize in the Groupe CGI competition (2009) and CAPSQ prizes (2003, 2004, 2005), she continues her practice through formal and conceptual research. A member of RAAV since 2015, she develops a sensitive body of work that questions the relationship between order and chaos, reflecting visually on the major issues of our time.
